Phoenix Battle

So yeah, I'm posting in here because I'm obviously having trouble at this point. I'm liking the game but I keep getting the bad ending because I can't defeat that phoenix. I have both of those full health potions and I keep using the attack option. The skill option for Florence seems to have less effect than direct attacks. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I keep getting defeated and I really want to get past this part. :/

Ahh that's probably because you didn't get the extra skill Florence can unlock in the beginning. It's a paralyzing spell that will be very useful in this battle. If you defeat enough enemies in the beginning, you'll level up and unlock the skill. You only need to level up once to have it. ^^

Ahh ok. It looks like I'll have to start over although I didn't want to do that. But I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to start a new game. Thanks. XD

It took me a while to get past that one as well but it helped that I had other health refilling items from the shop in Devonalls. But yes, the paralyzing spell is the most useful thing to be used at this battle.
